SAFE, CLINICAL SKIN TAG REMOVAL
Skin tag removal is a safe and simple procedure that is undertaken here, at our Monmouthshire Skin Tag Removal Clinic, by our nurse-led team of clinicians.
Some people are just more prone to skin tags than others; it’s not obvious why this is, but it means that you may have more than one tag that requires treatment. At our clinic, you can have more than one skin tag removed within one treatment session. Skin tags can sometimes look wart-like but they are different. Not contagious, skin tags will not grow back once removed.
Our preferred option for removal – and the most convenient treatment for our clients – is to have skin tags removed by freezing. This is a process known as cryotherapy. While skin tags can be removed by cutting them or burning them off, we prefer to use cryotherapy, or laser, at our Monmouthshire skin Tag removal clinic.
HOW WART REMOVAL CLINIC CAN HELP
Every skin tag client at Monmouthshire Wart Removal Clinic has their tag or tags clinically assessed by a nurse at our clinic. We find that most tags are assessed as suitable for removal. Following assessment, our nurse will use a pen-like precision tool to apply nitrous oxide, known as N20, to the tag’s stalk. Nitrous oxide is very cold and it treats the tag by freezing the stalk, stopping blood flow to the skin tag and effectively killing it.
During treatment, the pen does not penetrate or pierce the skin. When the tool is applied to the skin, you might feel a sensation very like the nib of a ballpoint pen being touched to your skin, however. Depending on the size of the skin tag, the nurse may need to apply the nitrous oxide device more than once within the same treatment. While most tags can effectively be frozen in one treatment, but very large skin tags might need subsequent treatment within a second session.
After the procedure, it’s normal to feel a slight tingling sensation around the treatment area. While not painful, you may feel a mild stinging for the rest of the treatment day.
Following cryotherapy treatment, you will see the skin tag begin to change colour. It will become darker in the days after the session. You might feel as if the skin tag is drying out and becoming crusty. This shows the treatment has worked and that the skin tag is dying. Within days, the tag will fall off altogether. You may notice a small mark where the skin tag has fallen off but this will go away in time. Once healed, you will be able to resume your normal skin care routine.
If you have any issues or questions about treatment, please feel free to contact our Monmouthshire Skin Tag Removal Clinic. Our nurses are happy to help.
