SAFE, CLINICAL SKIN TAG REMOVAL
Skin tag removal is a safe and simple procedure that is undertaken here, at our Lincolnshire Skin Tag Removal Clinic, by our nurse-led team of clinicians.
It’s not clear why some people are more prone to skin tags than other people. You may have one tag for removal or multiple. You can have more than one skin tag removed at a time. Some skin tags can look like warts, but they won’t grow back once removed and are not contagious.
At our Lincolnshire clinic, we prefer to remove skin tags via freezing. This is known as cryotherapy and we find it the most convenient option for removal for our clients too. While skin tags can be removed by burning or cutting them off, we have opted to use cryotherapy, or laser, at our Lincolnshire skin Tag removal clinic.
HOW WART REMOVAL CLINIC CAN HELP
Every skin tag at the Lincolnshire Wart Removal Clinic will be clinically assessed by one of our nursing team before treatment commences. Most tags are suitable for removal; our nurse will advise upon assessment. Following assessment, our nurse will apply nitrous oxide to the treatment area. To do this, they will use a precision tool that looks like a pen. Nitrous oxide is known as N20 and is very cold. Used to freeze the skin tag’s stalk, it stops the flow of blood to the skin tag and kills it.
The skin is not pierced by the pen during treatment, but you may feel as if the nib of a ballpoint pen is touching your skin during application. Once the first dose of nitrous oxide has been applied, your nurse may decide to apply the device again within the same treatment. This will depend on the size of the skin tag. While most skin tags can be effectively treated in one session, very large skin tags might need additional treatment in a second session.
After the procedure, you may feel a tingling sensation in the treatment area. Although not painful, you might feel a slight stinging in the hours after treatment.
Following cryotherapy treatment, you will notice that your skin tag changes colour, getting darker in the days after the session. You’ll also feel the tag drying out and becoming crusty. This means that the skin tag is dying. Within days, the dried-up tag will totally fall off. You may see a small mark where the skin tag had been attached, but this will disappear in time. When the area has healed, you can resume your skin care routine as normal.
