WART REMOVAL NORTH YORKSHIRE

Every skin tag client at North Yorkshire Wart Removal Clinic has their tag or tags clinically assessed by our nursing team. Most tags are found to be suitable for removal. After assessment, your nurse will apply nitrous oxide to the skin tag by using a pen-like precision tool. Nitrous oxide is also known as N20 and is very cold. It freezes the stalk of the skin tag and stops blood flow to the skin tag. It is this that effectively kills it.

While the pen does not penetrate the skin, you will feel it touch the skin during application. This is like the nib of a ballpoint pen touching your skin. Following the application of the nitrous oxide, your nurse might decide to apply the device again. This might be because the size of the skin tag requires a second application. This can be done in the same treatment. Almost all tags can be effectively treated in session, although large skin tags may a second session.

Once the procedure is complete, you may feel a gentle tingling sensation in the area around the skin tag. While the treatment is not painful, you may experience a mild stinging after the treatment for the rest of the day.

Following cryotherapy treatment, you will see the skin tag darken and change colour. You may feel it dry out and start to become crusty. A good sign that the skin tag is dying, you will soon notice that a tag has simply fallen off altogether. You may then notice that there is a small mark where the skin tag has left the skin but it will vanish in time. Once the tag area has healed, you can return to your normal skin care routine.

Some people are more prone to skin tags than others, however it is not clear why this might be the case. You may opt to have more than one skin tag removed at a time. Skin tags may sometimes look like warts; however, they are neither contagious and they will not grow back once removed.

Our preferred option – and the most convenient for our clients – is to have skin tags removed via freezing. This process is known as cryotherapy. Skin tags can also be removed by cutting them off or burning them off, however at our clinic, we prefer to use cryotherapy.
