Skin tag removal is a safe and simple procedure that is undertaken here, at our Tyne and Wear Skin Tag Removal Clinic, by our nurse-led team of clinicians.
Why some people are more prone to skin tags than others is not clear, but it may mean that you have more than one tag to remove. We can treat multiple tags in one session. Although some skin tags can look like warts, they’re non-contagious and don’t grow after removal.
The preferred treatment option at our clinic – and the most convenient for our clients – is to have skin tags removed by cryotherapy. This process uses freezing to remove the tags. Skin tags can be removed by burning or cutting them off, but, at our Tyne and Wear skin Tag removal clinic, we prefer to use cryotherapy, or laser.
HOW WART REMOVAL CLINIC CAN HELP
All of our skin tag clients at the Tyne and Wear Wart Removal Clinic will have tags clinically assessed by one of our nursing team. We find that most tags are suitable for removal. Following assessment, our nurse freezes the skin tag with the application of a pen-like precision tool. Using nitrous oxide, which is known as N20 and very cold, the application will stop the flow of blood to the skin tag. The nitrous oxide will effectively kill the tag.
The precision tool used will not pierce the skin, although you may feel a sensation like a nib of a pen on your skin. During the nitrous oxide application, the nurse may decide to use the pen more than once. This will depend on the size of the tag being treated. Tags can usually be treated in one session, but larger tags might require a follow-up session.
After cryotherapy, clients may feel a tingling sensation around the area. While the treatment doesn’t hurt, you may experience a stinging feeling for the remainder of the day.
After your nitrous oxide treatment, your skin tag will darken. The change in colour will be joined by the tag crusting and drying out. A good sign, this shows that the tag is dying. In a few days, your tag will fall off. You may notice a small mark, but this will go in time. When totally healed, you can practice your usual skin care routine.
