WART REMOVAL Wiltshire

All tag clients at our Wiltshire Wart Removal Clinic will have their tags assessed by one of our nursing team to see if they are clinically suitable for removal. Most tags are suitable for cryotherapy. Following assessment, our nurse will apply nitrous oxide through a pen-like precision tool. The nitrous oxide freezes the skin tag. Also known as N20, nitrous oxide is very cold and stems the flow of blood to the skin tag. It effectively kills the tag. 

The tool used does not pierce the skin, but you might feel a sensation similar to a ballpoint nib on your skin. When applying nitrous oxide, your nurse may apply the pen more than once. This can depend on the size of the tag being treated. While tags can usually be treated entirely in one session, you may need a second session for a large tag.   

Clients can feel a gentle tingling sensation around the treatment area following cryotherapy. The treatment won’t hurt, but you may feel a mild stinging during the rest of the day of treatment.

The skin tag will darken in the days after nitrous oxide application. Alongside a change in colour, the tag will crust and dry out too. A good sign, this shows that the tag is dying. Within days, your tag will fall off. You might notice a small mark, but this will go in time. When the area has totally healed, you can practice your normal skin care routine.

Skin tag removal is a safe and simple procedure that is undertaken here, at our Clinic, by our nurse-led team of clinicians.

Some people are more prone to skin tags than others, however it is not clear why this might be the case. You may opt to have more than one skin tag removed at a time. Skin tags may sometimes look like warts; however, they are neither contagious and they will not grow back once removed.

Our preferred option – and the most convenient for our clients – is to have skin tags removed via freezing. This process is known as cryotherapy. Skin tags can also be removed by cutting them off or burning them off, however at our clinic, we prefer to use cryotherapy.
